Bromley County Grammar School for Boys (now Ravensbourne School)

On other pages on this site can be found photographs from the Curwood Collection. These include a picture of George Curwood outside his shop in Bromley Market Square. His grandson Les recently contacted us regarding papers belonging to David Curwood, George's son who was a pupil a the Bromley County School in Hayes Lane from 1922 to 1933, ending up as Head Boy. Among the papers, he found an interesting post card collection taken some time after 1933 when the school was extended with a new hall, gym and dining area at the rear. The new hall was subsequently used for outside concerts and events (after the Central Hall in London Road was bombed) but it had very poor acoustics.
