Before completing your application or renewal, please read the following information


General Data Protection Regulation


Bromley Borough Local History Society undertakes to meet the requirements of this legislation.


As a member the Society will hold, with your consent, the following information:

 

  1. Your Name
  2. Your Address

 

It may also hold with your consent:

 

  1. Your telephone number
  2. Your email address

 

This information is held solely:

 

  1. For the purpose of maintaining a list of current members and officers of the Society;
  2. To send you the Society magazine;
  3. To send you information on forthcoming meetings and events;
  4. To contact you in the event of last minute additions or changes to these events.

 

Your information is held on home computers protected with generally accepted levels of security and all back-ups are held securely. Your email address is also held by Google LLC, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. based in the USA. The information is not and will not be given by us to anyone outside the Society except at your written request.


Please note:

 

  1. You are deemed to have consented to our holding your name and address by sending us an application form and annual subscription. You are further deemed to have consented to our holding and using your telephone number and/or email address if you have included this information on the form;
  2. You may ask to see the information we hold on you by sending a request email or letter to the Membership Secretary at any time;
  3. You may ask for the information to be corrected or added-to by writing or emailing the Membership Secretary at any time;
  4. You may ask for some or all information to be deleted but if this includes your name and address this will be considered as termination of membership of the Society and all your details will be removed from our database;
  5. Non-payment of subscription, and in the absence of any request to the contrary, will be treated as termination of membership and your details removed from our database six months after the due date of renewal.
