Lorraine Budge

Lorraine Budge (1956 -2018)

We are sorry to report the death late last year of Lorraine Budge who had worked for Bromley Libraries for 44 years. She started in the branch libraries but for most of her career she worked in Local Studies and Archives at the Central Library. Lorraine lived her whole life in Orpington, the history of which she became familiar with and an expert on, but travelled extensively, Madagascar being one of her favourite destinations. She loved animals, dogs in particular and had a deep passion for nature.

She was a popular and well loved colleague who was known for going the extra mile to help library visitors both old and new with their local and family history; many would seek her out especially for her friendly advice. She is deeply missed by all who worked with her.

Her former colleagues are fundraising for Cancer Research UK in her memory. If you would like to contribute, please click on Lorraine's picture to go to the donation site.
